Success at the Show

The International Woodworking Fair (IWF) was last week, and in spite of the down economy I found a lot of great opportunities there and met a lot of great people. This year ISFA teamed up with the show to offer a full-day countertop symposium in which I presented alongside of several top fabricators. And even better, we held a fabricator meeting at Oldcastle Surfaces that I'm happy to report was a success. Oldcastle, which is one of the largest countertop companies in the country, with more than 200 employees and 6 locations, opened the doors to its headquarters in Atlanta and gave the nearly 100 attendees a tour of its facility.

It was great to see the camaraderie as fabricators from around the country shared the ups and downs (there were still too many downs for my liking as of late) with each other while they enjoyed the hospitality of Oldcastle and its staff.

And most importantly, I've been gathering up information from the show that I will be sharing with you in the next issue of Countertops & Architectural Surfaces for those of you that were unable to attend. All in all, a worthwhile event.

As always,

Kevin Cole
